Mrs Whyte's (c)ankle's have not yet recovered from the flight. But she did sleep, and so did O'Reilly. Amber and Emma didn't. (did you hear that? They DID NOT SLEEP AT ALL). Mostly everyone watched Twilight.
Our first day was ACTION PACKED! We were introduced to the cultural diversity of Vancouver almost upon arrival. A nice man met us outside our hostel.
We familiarised ourselves with our surrounding area by walking around, eating street meats (hot dogs! Real North American Ones!) and Subway (similar to NZ!?!?), being photographed outside The Village (gay gay gay), watching the sunset at .... Sunset Beach (Emma took the photograph above)! shopping for tomorrow's food at the 'market. And made it safely back to our hostel for a snuggly sleep.
Day 2 = Bus to Train to Bus to School to School (Magic) Bus to Feet to Bus to FERRY to Feet [fire engine interruption] to Bus to feet home.
Cariboo Hill High School hosted us today - we did a scavenger hunt in a real Canadian forest with bears on the loose (squirrel sized - wait....) so we had a ride in a REAL YELLOW SCHOOL BUS.
By the way - the day time temperature is v. temperate! The boys all wore their shorts today, and T Shirts were a HIT! The thermals have not been busted out .... yet ..... (22 degrees today)
NB: Do not go down Columbia!
Glad you got there ok. sorry for making you pack 60 million thermals but we were told it would be COLD! but i'm sure it will be colder along the way. Monday in Tauranga was glorious but today tuesday slightly overcast. Missing you heaps. Check out facebook for leaving pics.(don't know how to upload to this blog thingy)
