We got on the bus for the last time this morning - at FIVE THIRTY AM (well, most of us did, the boys slept through 2 alarms, but were only 3 minutes late, legendary) - to catch our 7:10 flight to Montreal. We weren't really that sad to say goodbye to Calgary, but the hostel and the hostel staff were nice.
And we had to say goodbye to Jim. He has been very good to us.
NB/ A 6am check in is not so conducive to clear thinking / sincere goodbyes / not taking through liquids over 100ml.
We arrived at Montreal around 2pm local time (we skipped two hours on the way!) and after two buses (technically 3 as we were too many to all fit on one bus especially with our ever increasing suitcase weights) and a train (underground or "Metro"*) we arrived our Auberge de Jeunesse at 1030 Rue Mackay - our home for the next 3 nights.

After settling in we got back on the Metro and went into Vieux Montreal - Old Montreal; where it all began.
*The first underground train experience for many! It went well. They will be pro by Thurs*
Market building in Old Montreal

It's really pretty. Like Paris?! What do you think?
The skyline is delicious!
Oui, it is cold. (High today of +9 max) (don't you love it how they put a + as if it's not often used)This is Candice, Sam and Thea rugged up on the steps of Notre Dame Cathedral
Notre Dame still (just) in the sun.Everyone got dinner while they were meandering around the old streets; many are cobbled and some buildings date back to the 17th Century. I know Amber had Steak and Frites, and Nick got a Crepe... Chrosie inform me that MacDonald's is even different here!
Emma's dinner.
Clowns!
A little humour (Emma and Patrick got it)Everyone is excited and impressed by Montreal so far, particularly how every single thing is in FRENCH! but the great thing is that locals seem very willing to lapse into English for us; which is terrifically helpful!!! (Although Emma can say "fat cow" in Francais. Well done Emma)
Notre Dame? I thought you were in Canada...
