After an early morning of shopping, we set off for Granville Island via Kitsilano (mon shi shi area of Downtown Vancouver). We went across False Creek in a AquaBus - this, however, is not documented in picture form, for today we truly encountered Canadian Cold.
Aquabus gave us the cutest ride in the cutest wee floating bathtubs and once safely on the other side we spent some time in the thriving Granville Markets.
From the markets we walked through picturesque Kitsilano (hippie hangout in 1970s, but now v.v.v. moneyed) (think cute timber houses and boutique cafes with cherry blossom everywhere) toward University of British Columbia and the Museum of Anthropology.
It was the last day of lectures for the year at UBC and a party atmosphere prevailed!
We MAY have seen Britney Spears in an alleyway beside the hostel. Consensus has not yet been reached. (She is playing here tonight though and a homeless man with a New Zealand T Shirt on told Ryan and Nick that he knew where she was "hanging out" after the show)
